  • MoM | Jharkhand Chapter Ratified The New Constitution of IIMCAA

    Dear IIMCians,
    Jharkhand Chapter of IIMC Alumni Association met at Jalsa Inn, Ashok Nagar, Ranchi on 25th August, 2017. Chapter President Mr. Manoj Kumar presided over the meeting that was attended by Vice President Mr. Amit Kumar Gupta, Secretary Mr. Pranav Pratyush, Organisation Secretary Mr. Anand Dutta, Executive Members Mr. Ranjeet Kumar Singh & Mr. Rajesh Kumar. 
    National Secretary Mr. Kaushal Kumar, Senior Alumni Mr. Rajesh Kumar, Mr. Dev Vrat Singh, Mr. Santosh Oraon, Mr. Ranjit Singh, Ms. Vishakha Rathore, Mr. Vivekanand Singh, Ms. Puja Arpita Oraon and Mr. Shambhu Nath Singh were also present.
    Minutes of the Meeting:-
    1. Jharkhand Chapter unanimously ratified the new constitution of IIMC Alumni Association without any proposal to make changes.
    2. President informed that 4 alumni have joined different organisations of Jharkhand in 2017 and have been inducted in Jharkhand Chapter. They are Ms. Vishakha Rathore, Mr. Vivekanand Singh, Mr. Shambhu Nath Singh and Ms. Puja Arpita Oraon.
    3.The Jharkhand Chapter gave farewell to outgoing Organisation Secretary Mr. Anand Dutta, who is moving from Ranchi to Delhi. His efforts in establishing a vibrant chapter were appreciated by all members. 
    4. The meeting unanimously appointed Mr. Ranjeet Kumar Singh as Treasurer and Ms. Puja Arpita Oraon as Organisation Secretary. Replacements for other vacant positions, due to movement of office bearer outside Jharkhand, will be made by President Mr. Manoj Kumar in consulation with senior members.
    5. All members agreed to plan for Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary or Netarhat Tour on the line of previous visit at Tilaiya Dam along with family in October-November, 2017. Vice President Mr. Amit Kumar Gupta has been assigned the responsibilities for the trip unanimously. 
    6. Chapter President Mr. Manoj Kumar thanked all the members and expressed gratitude for their active participation.

    The Central Committee of IIMC Alumni Association met at IIMC HQ, New Delhi on 20th August, 2017. President Mr. Suresh Kumar Vashishth presided over the meeting that was attended by Executive President Mr. Anand Bhushan, Vice President Mr. Harendra Yadav, General Secretary Mr. Mihir Ranjan, Organisation Secretary Mr. Pratham Dwivedi, Treasurer Ms. Deeksha Saksena and Executive Member Mr. Komal Badodekar.
    General Secretary of Punjab-Haryana-Himachal Chapter Mr. Muni Shankar Pandey, Organisation Secretary of Bihar Chapter Mr. Abhimanyu Kumar Saha, Senior Alumni Mr. Umesh Chaturvedi, Mr. Madhur Kalra, Mr. Harshendra Singh Verdhan, Mr. Animesh Biswas, Mr. Ritesh Verma, Mr. Amit Deshmukh and Mr. Keshav Kumar were also present.
    Minutes of the Meeting:-
    1. IIMCAA accepts the resignation of Mr. Arunoday Prakash, its Vice President. The Central Committee appreciated the invaluable contribution of Mr. Prakash in building IIMCAA.
    2. The role of IIMCAA is to connect IIMC Alumni.
    3. IIMCAA is mandated to remain an apolitical organisation. Views expressed by its members outside IIMCAA are their individual views and IIMCAA does not endorse them.
    4. People associated with IIMCAA have adopted to remain apolitical while working for IIMCAA even if they have different political inclinations.

  • Digital journalists and students can apply for a fellowship: Deadline 20th July

    The Online News Association is accepting applications for the MJ Bear Fellowship and the HBCU Digital Media Fellowship.

    The fellowships provide registration, travel and accommodations for the 2017 Online News Association Conference and Awards in Washington. The MJ Bear fellow also receives three online workshop sessions with a Personal Advisory Board and ONA membership.

    The MJ Bear Fellowship is open to international candidates. The HBCU Digital Media Fellowship is awarded to students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU). 

    The deadline to apply is July 20.

  • Scholarship to study in Germany.

    Young professionals from developing countries can apply for a scholarship to study in Germany.

    The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD, in German) supports postgraduate studies and training in a variety of subjects, including media studies.

    Institutions that offer media studies include Leipzig University, Bauhaus University Weimar and Cologne University of Applied Sciences.

    Candidates must have completed their college degree in the past six years and have at least two years of related professional experience.

    The deadlines vary by university.
