  • Rajasthan Chapter to Propose A Panel for IIMCAA Elections 2014

    Dear IIMCians,
    Rajasthan Chapter of IIMC Alumni Association met on July 27 at Jawahar Kala Kendra, Jaipur. President Mr. Anurag Vajpai presided over the meeting while Vice President Mr. Sachin Saini, General Secretary Ms. Sonam Saini, Treasurer Mr. Laxmi Shankar Mishra, Organisation Secretary Mr. Adarsh Shukla, Mr. Abhishek Singhal, Mr. Madhav Sharma, Ms. Purnima Pahuja, Ms. Poonam Shankar, Mr. Vivek Dubey, Mr. Naveen Negi, Ms. Gayatree Verma, Mr. Vinay Kumar & Ms. Kiran Kindo attended the meeting.

    Minutes of the Meeting:-
    1. Rajasthan Chapter will propose a panel to contest the election of the Central Committee of IIMC Alumni Association/ IIMCAA Elections 2014.
    2. Chapter will held next meeting soon to give the final shape to the proposed panel.
    3. We will invite an eminent personality for an interactive session with our members.

  • MoM | Jharkhand Chapter Meeting | 27 July, 2014

    Dear IIMCians,
    Jharkhand Chapter of IIMC Alumni Association met at Hotel Rajasthan, Ranchi on July 27. 
    It was presided over by Vice President Mr. Kumar Rajesh and attended by General Secretary Mr. Amit Gupta, Treasurer Mr. Manmohan Singh, Organization Secretary Mr. Anand Dutta and Secretary Mr. Ashwani Kumar Nigam.
    Meeting decided to collect some money and send it to Bangalore based alumni fighting cancer Mr. Ajay Anand of 1999-2000 Batch. 
    The souvenir of alumni meet 2014 SBI Life Connections 2014 was circulated among present in the meeting. Organisation Secretary Mr. Dutta would hand over the same to remaining alumni who couldn’t manage to attend the meeting. 
    It was decided to hold next meeting in August.

    The Economic Times, India’s largest financial newspaper, needs experienced copy editors/pagemakers for their Bangalore edition.

    Title: Copy Editor / Senior Copy Editor

    Responsibilities:

    • Edit and rewrite reports – mostly business news
    • Supporting the Desk Editor/News Editors in daily newspaper production
    • Co-ordinate with reporters for fact-checking/rewriting
    • Work with graphic designers for daily and special pages

    Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience at a news desk, preferably at a financial newspaper

    Read, evaluate and edit manuscripts or other materials submitted for publication and confer with authors regarding changes in content, style or organization, or publication.
    Monitor news-gathering operations to ensure utilization of all news sources, such as press releases, telephone contacts, radio, television, wire services, and other reporters.
    Supervise and coordinate work of reporters and stringers
    Select local, state, national, and international news items received from wire services, based on assessment of items' significance and interest value.
    Interview and hire writers and reporters or negotiate contracts, royalties, and payments for authors or freelancers.
    Knowledge and Skills
    Exceptional communication and organizational skills
    Ability to manage  in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
    Bachelor’s/ Masters degree in English, Journalism and Mass Communication
