3. Executive Assistant to the Director
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
To provide high quality personal/Administrative/Operational assistance to the Director
To act on behalf of the Director in her absence.
POSITION IN ORGANISATION:
This postholder will work closely with the Director and all the HOD’s of the network channel .
DECISION MAKING:
Able to make decisions and act on behalf of the Director within agreed parameters .
EXPERIENCE
Minimum 2/3 Years of experience working in a corporate.
Experience of taking and writing minutes, summarising discussions and writing reports .
Experience of using Microsoft Office packages, particularly

JOB DESCRIPTION
Acting on behalf of and representing the Director by managing a wide range of support functions.
To oversee coordination and collation of weekly/ monthly/ quarterly reports for meetings .
To ensure departmental deadlines are met for corporate activities .
To attend and contribute to meetings on the Director’s behalf, reporting back and following up appropriately.

To develop content strategy for the News Portal and bring the aggression and speed of television media to the online space.
Excellent writing and editing skills, with an understanding of the special requirements of writing for the Web, such as the use of keywords, hyperlinks, navigation .
Must have good interpersonal skills to work effectively with stringers , reporters , designers and webmasters.
To collate material from multiple sources and produce web content within tight deadlines
planning, creating, editing and publishing news on the Portal
Prepare, rewrite and edit copy to improve readability, or supervise others who do this work
Read copy or proof to detect and correct errors in spelling, punctuation, and syntax.
Develop story or content ideas, considering reader or audience appeal.
Assign topics, events and stories to individual writers or reporters for coverage.
Read, evaluate and edit manuscripts or other materials submitted for publication and confer with authors regarding changes in content, style or organization, or publication.
Monitor news-gathering operations to ensure utilization of all news sources, such as press releases, telephone contacts, radio, television, wire services, and other reporters.
Supervise and coordinate work of reporters and stringers
Select local, state, national, and international news items received from wire services, based on assessment of items' significance and interest value.
Interview and hire writers and reporters or negotiate contracts, royalties, and payments for authors or freelancers.
