Copy editor

A leading professional services firm is seeking copy editors to review
documents on a broad range of industries and functions for clarity,
concision, and coherence.

 

Although based in India, the copy editor will report to supervisors based in New York.

Candidates must have excellent skills in American English grammar, spelling, usage, and punctuation.

They must be detail-oriented, with a thorough understanding of editorial processes.

Knowledge of the Chicago Manual of Style, the AP Stylebook, or Words Into Type is essential.

Successful candidates must be a team player

Be able to meet and manage deadlines, have a keen eye for detail, possess strong
organizational abilities, and have good communication skills.
 

include editing text for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and syntax, and modifying copy to conform to standards of
style, length, and ease of understanding.

Candidates should possess:

2-5 years of copy-editing experience
Extensive knowledge of English grammar and familiarity with
distinctions between British English and American English
Excellent time-management and prioritization skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
The ability to perform gracefully under pressure
An uncompromising commitment to quality
