Dear IIMCians,

Odisha Chapter of IIMC Alumni Association met at Press Club of Odisha on January 4, 2017. Chapter President Mr. Sanjay Kumar Sahoo presided over the meeting that was attended by General Secretary Mr. Jyoti Prakash Mohapatra, Organisation Secretary Mr. Sudhansu Kumar Patro, Treasurer Mr. Kishan Barai, Alumni Mr. Chidananda Jena and Mr. Charu Chandan Das.

Connection 2017 at Dhenkanal

Date

Odisha is celebrating Biju Patnaik’s Birth Centenary on March 5, 2017 hence the date of Connection 2017 at Dhenkanal may be shifted in consultation with the Central Committee. Two Volvo bus will be arranged for alumni from Bhubaneswar to Dhenkanal and return.

Organising Committee

A committee has been formed with following members: Mr. Jyotiprakash Mohapatra, Mr. Sudhansu Patro, Mr. Kishan Barai, Mr. Chidananda Jena, Mr. Charu Chandan Das, Mr. Binayak, Ms. Sasmita, Ms. Itishree, Mr. Ananta, Mr. Satya Mallick, Mr. Rakesh Mohanty, Mr. Jajati Karan, Ms. Kasturi Ray and Ms. Sarda Lahangir.

The first meeting of the organising committee will take place at 6 PM on 7th January, 2017 at Press Club of Odisha. Mr. Sudhansu Patro to coordinate the meeting.

Sponsorship

Chapter will try to raise as much sponsorship as possible to host the Connections 2017 successfully. Responsibility will be assigned to organising committee members at the next meeting.

Bank Account of Chapter

A separate bank account of the chapter will be opened in consultation with the Central Committee. Mr. Sudhansu Patro and Mr. Kishan Barai to do the needful.

Membership Drive

The Chapter will have a membership drive to formally enrol all alumni present in Odisha. All alumni are requested to enrol themselves along with annual membership fee. A detailed plan regarding membership drive will be shared soon.

·         Doing stories that impacts Government, Policy Makers & Common Man

·         Checking on accuracy and credibility of exclusive news

·         Delivering exclusive stories consistently

·         Ability to come up with exhaustive questions on domain

       Required Skills

·         2- 6 yrs of experience in similar profile

·         Preferably covered Government, Ministries, Political parties or similar beats

·         Excellent written & verbal communication

·         Go getter

   3.Output Desk: When you know the story then you tell the story so that a common man will know, what it means to them.

     Job Location : Mumbai

      Job Profile:

·         Responsible for breaking stories ahead of competition

·         Creating rundowns, editing and packaging news in all formats & genres

·         Editing scripts for broadcast by condensing or expanding material gathered from sources and/or reporters

·         Writing anchor links and building and executing run-downs for bulletins

·         Cutting bytes, making capsules and writing for the ticker as well as breaking news flashes

·         Producing news packages ,editing news packages and scripts for the show

·         Coordinating with the PCR to ensure accurate On-Air delivery of graphics and other inputs

    Required Skills:

·         2- 6 yrs of experience in similar profile

·         Excellent written & verbal communication

·         Team Player & quick on feet

4.News Coordination: If there is news, then the news makers should be first on TIMES NOW

      Job Location : Delhi & Mumbai

       Job Profile:

·         Good networking skills with various personalities in order to ensure that faces of high repute attend the various event of the channel

·         Lining up panellists of national and international stature and the ones who are the best in their respective fields – politics, culture, business, entertainment and sports

·         Maintaining a track of guests who appeared on the different shows.

·         Fixing bytes of prominent personalities from all walks of life for special campaigns

     Required Skills:

·         2- 6 yrs of experience in similar profile

·         Excellent written & verbal communication

·         Team Player & quick on feet
