  • MoM | Bihar Chapter Ratified The New Constitution With One Amendment In Presidential Power

    Dear IIMCians,
    The Bihar Chapter of IIMC Alumni Association met on August 31, 2017 at Journalist Union Office, Patna to discuss the draft constitution of IIMC Alumni Association. Chapter President Mr Bhola Nath presided over the meeting that was attended by General Secretary Mr. Saqib Khan, Secretary & Treasurer Ms. Banjot Kaur, Mr Satyavrat Mishra, Ms. Imbesat Imam, Ms. Swati Swarna, Mr Mithilesh Gupta and Mr Neeraj Priyadarshi.
    Minutes of the Meeting:-
    1. It went through the draft constitution and passed it unanimously. The chapter found everything okay except for one section which refers to the power of President of the Central Committee of IIMCAA. The chapter has decided to propose amendment to make this section more democratic.
    2. The draft says that among other powers, the President has got the right to remove any member of IIMCAA if s/he is found to be working against aims and objectives of the association. The draft also says that the President has the right to dissolve an entire state's chapter/sub-chapter for a similar reason. While the chapter does underscore the importance of the discipline, it also unanimously suggests that the member or the chapter concerned must get a fair chance to have their say before a disciplinary committee which should be constituted for the same. After hearing, the disciplinary committee must give its recommendations to the Central Committee, which, in turn, should take a final call on the matter.
    3. Another agenda was election of office-bearers of the chapter. The chapter has decided to meet specially for the purpose on September 17, 2017 at 3pm at the Journalist Union Office, Patna.
    4. The Secretary-cum-Treasurer, who quit on the occasion due to re-location, also thanked the members of the chapter for supporting her stint.

  • MoM | Singapore Chapter Ratified The New Constitution of IIMCAA

    Dear IIMCians,
    The Singapore Chapter of IIMC Alumni Association met at Element, Amara Singapore on August 31, 2017. Chapter President Mr. Zafar Anjum presided over the meeting that was attended by General Secretary Mr. Saurabh Chaturvedi, Treasurer Ms. Rayana Pandey, Senior Alumni Mr. Gaurav Raghuvanshi, Ms. Shweta Aggarwal and Ms. Aradhana Srivastava.
    Minutes of the Meeting:-
    1. Singapore Chapter unanimously ratified the new constitution without any suggestion to make changes.
    2. Chapter resolved to meet at regular intervals.
    3. Ms. Srishti Dugar, who could not attend the meeting because of prior engagement, suggested that the Singapore Chapter should be expanded to include alumni residing in South East Asia. For instance, she said there are alumni in Malaysia, who would be happy to attend the meeting in Singapore if a prior notice is given. The chapter will consider the proposal in the next meeting.

  • MoM | North East Chapter Ratified The New Constitution of IIMCAA

    North East Chapter of IIMC Alumni Association met at the Indian Express Office, Guwahati on 31 August, 2017. Chapter President Mr. Samudragupta Kashyap presided over the meeting that was attended by Vice President Mr. Manoj Khandelwal, Tamil Nadu Chapter President Mr. Amar Nath, Mr. Neepijyoti Gogoi and Mr. Himanshu Pandey.
    Minutes of the Meeting:-
    1. The Meeting discussed the amendments to the IIMCAA constitution and this chapter hereby resolved to endorse the same unanimously.

  • MoM | MP Chapter Ratified New Constitution, Anil Saumitra Elected New President

    Dear IIMCians,
    Madhya Pradesh Chapter of IIMC Alumni Association met at DB City Mall, Bhopal on 31st August, 2017. Senior Alumni Mr. Anil Saumitra presided over the meeting that was attended by Mr. Vijay Dubey, Ms. Ananya Moitra, Mr. Amit Pathe, Mr. Pankaj Sharma, Mr. Santosh Kumar and Mr. Deepak Sharma.
    Minutes of the Meeting:-
    1. Members unanimously ratified the new constitution of IIMC Alumni Association without any proposal to make changes. 
    2. Three new members have been inducted in Madhya Pradesh Chapter. They are Mr. Deepak Sharma, Mr. Santosh Kumar and Mr. Pankaj Sharma.
    3. New President, General Secretary, Organisation Secretary, Treasurer and Coordinator were elected during the meeting. 
    4. Mr. Anil Saumitra was unanimously elected the President of the chapter. Mr. Vijay Dubey has been elected as Vice-President, Ms. Ananya Moitra as General Secretary, Mr. Amit Pathe as Organisation Secretary, Mr. Pankaj Sharma as Treasurer and Mr. Santosh Kumar as the Coordinator.

  • MoM | Uzbekistan Chapter Ratified The New Constitution of IIMCAA

    Dear IIMCians,
    Uzbekistan Chapter of IIMC Alumni Association met at Lal Bahadur Shashtri Indian Cultural Centre, Tashkent on 31 August, 2017. Chapter President Mr. Alimov B.S. presided over the meeting that was attended by General Secretary Ms. Fotimakhon Makhsimova (2014), Mr. Ahmadjon Kasimov (1994), Mr. Fahriddin Nizamov (1994) and Guests Ms. Nazira Tashpulatova.
    Order of the Meeting:-
    1. Chapter President Mr. Alimov B.S. expressed gratitude to the participants for taking part in this meeting. 
    2. The meeting began with congratulations on the 23rd anniversary of the first class of graduates of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication. 
    3. Chapter President Mr. Alimov B.S. and other participants considered the draft version of the rules and regulations of IIMC Alumni Association.
    4. Chapter President Mr. Alimov consulted Mr. Halim Saidov, Mr. Amir kul Karimov and Mr. Uktan Mirzayorov over phone and they all consented to ratify the constitution without any changes.
    5. Members of Uzbekistan Chapter also discussed the opportunities and professional input between Uzbekistan State World Language University and IIMC related to education of young mid career journalists and plans to organise a forum in New Delhi with the participation of delegation from Uzbekistan. 
    Decisions Taken at the Meeting:-
    1. The Uzbekistan Chapter unanimously ratified the new constitution of the IIMC Alumni Association. 
    2. To organise the forum in IIMC (Delhi) on development of the international journalism in Uzbekistan and India: practices.

  • MoM | Gujarat Chapter Ratified The New Constitution of IIMCAA

    Dear IIMCians,
     
    Gujarat Chapter of IIMC Alumni Association (IIMCAA) met at The Times of India office, Ahmedabad on August 30, 2017. Senior alumni Mr. P K Sahoo presided over the meeting that was attended by Mr. Shreepathy Hariprasad, Mr. Vikram Vishal and Mr. Arvind Kumar. 
    Chapter President Mr. Pradeep Mallik, Members Mr. Susim Mohanty, Mr. Rajesh Sisodiya, Mr. Kumar Anand, Mr. Piyush Mishra, Mr. Dheeraj Vashistha, Mr. Shivendra Madhusudan and Mr. Pranjal Protim Boruah, who could not attend the meeting, were consulted over phone and gave their approval to ratify the new constitution.
     
    Minutes of the Meeting:-
    1. Gujarat Chapter ratifies the new constitution & by-laws of IIMC Alumni Association.
    2. Members not present in the meeting gave their approval in favour to ratify the new constitution over phone to General Secretary.
    3. General Secretary thanked all members for swift ratification of the new constitution.

  • Andhra Pradesh & Telangana Chapter Ratified The New Constitution of IIMCAA

    Dear IIMCians,
    Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Chapter of IIMC Alumni Association met at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad on 30th August, 2017. Senior member and ETV UP Head Mr. Anshul Shukla presided over the meeting that was attended by Organisation Secretary Mr. Santiswarupa Samantaray, Executive Members Ms. Jogamaya Nayak, Mr. Ganga Prasad, Ms. Tapaswini Mohalik and Ms. Arpita Priyadarshini.
    Chapter President Mr. Byomkesh Biswal, Vice President Mr. Chetan Mallik and Mr. Manoj Dash, General Secretary Mr. Rajesh Parida, Executive Member Ms. Debasmita Priyadarshini gave their consent over video conference to ratify the new constitution of IIMC Alumni Association.
    Minutes of the Meeting:-

    1. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Chapter unanimously ratified the new constitution of IIMC Alumni Association without any proposal to make changes.
    2. All members agreed to visit a old age home at Vanasthalipuram, Hyderabad on 10th September, 2017 to help the old people staying there.
    3. All members agreed to host a Swachh Bharat programme on 2nd October on the eve of Gandhi Jayanti.
    4. All members agreed for a Picnic to Nagarjuna Sagar Dam on River Krishna along with family on 17th September, 2017. Organisation Secretary Mr. Santiswarupa Samantaray has been assigned the responsibilities for the trip unanimously.
    5. Executive Member Ms. Jogamaya Nayak gave the vote of thanks to all the members for their participation in the meeting.
