JOB DESCRIPTION – Role and Responsibilities

India bureau is looking for a dynamic reporter to help cover political and general news. The job entails writing clearly about India’s complicated politics for our financial clients at a time when international interest in Asia’s third biggest economy is at a peak. The reporter will also be expected to write about environmental, health, business and lifestyle stories in a colourful manner for a growing consumer media market. The job involves subbing stringer copy from across India. A team player and ability to work long and often unsocial hours is a must. There will also be possible trips to conflict areas where experience of hostile environments is a plus.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS- Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Prior knowledge of Indian politics and experience of general news reporting is highly desirable.

A strong writer with sound judgement of what makes news for our core audience, and the ability to explain it clearly and elegantly. A sound analytical mind and track record of initiative reporting is also essential.
Strong writing highly valued: general news experience a significant advantage.
Experience of subbing desirable and accuracy essential.
The ability to work well as part of a close-knit team and communicate clearly with colleagues.
Fluent English spoken and written.
Ability to work well, and fast, under pressure

JOB DESCRIPTION – Role and Responsibilities

India is looking for an equities correspondent in New Delhi to cover some of the top companies in the telecoms, pharmaceuticals, energy and automobiles sectors. The job requires strong writing skills and an analytical mind to report on rapidly growing companies with global ambitions, as well as the booming stock market.

The job requires an understanding of mergers and acquisitions, fund raising and corporate earnings and a proven ability to cover international conferences, interview visiting CEOs, file alerts from the field, write a quick updates and regularly write analytical, stand-back reports to explain the Indian story to a global audience.

The candidate must be a strong team player and a self starter with exceptional networking skills as she/he will have to report local and international events in an extremely competitive environment and cooperate with equities reporters in Mumbai and Bangalore as well as the treasury, energy, commodities and general news reporters in the Delhi bureau. The successful candidate should be able to write cross-border stories with equities reporters based in other Asian bureaux.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS- Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Prior knowledge of the Indian corporate sector and stock markets as well as market contacts is desirable.
An accurate, fast and tenacious reporter with strong writing skills and news judgement. A track record of initiative reporting and breaking news, snapping from news conferences and analytical writing is a must.
Proven record of building sources and breaking stories, teamwork, diplomacy.
Broad writing experience valued; equities experience an advantage
Ability to write quick and effective market reports.
Fluent English spoken and written.
Ability to work well under extreme pressure
