    Applications are invited in the prescribed Performa from the candidates residing in Delhi and NCR  area who are interested in getting empanelled as Assistant Website Editors on Casual Assignment basis in Doordarshan News, New Delhi for productions of Website, Twitter and Youtube related work.
    i. Essential Qualifications:
    a. The applicant should be Graduate in any discipline with PG Diploma in Journalism or Graduation in Journalism.
    OR
    Bachelor of Computer Application with knowledge of Mass Communication.
    b. The candidates should have written & oral knowledge of English Language.
    ii. Desirable: Experience (If any)
    iii. Age: The age limit is 21 to 50 years as on 01.08.13.
    2. The applicant may note that working on casual assignment basis for Doordarshan News will not  confer any right for regularization of services in the organization. The booking will be offered from time to time on the basis of the requirements of the organization and will not exceed 07 days in a 
    calendar month.
    3. Application should in enclosed format should reach to the Senior Administrative Officer, Room No. 434, Doordarshan News, Doordarshan Bhawan, Tower-B, Copernicus Marg, New Delhi on 15.07.2013. The envelope containing the application should be superscribed with Application for Casual Assistant Website Editor.

  • Odia Journalism Day Celebrated | IIMCAA, Odisha

    Dear IIMCians,

    August 04 celebrated as ‘Odia Journalism Day’ to mark the beginning of Odia journalism on this date. The IIMC Alumni Association, Odisha Chapter organized a programme at Bakul Foundation, Bhubaneswar to celebrate the first Odia Journalism Day. The celebration got a special significance as a book on ‘History of Journalism in Odisha’ written by renowned media academician and Head of IIMC, Dhenkanl Dr. Mrinal Chatterjee was launched.

    Noted writer and former Editor Adhyapaka Biswaranjan, senior journalist Ramhari Mishra, and author-journalist Gourhari Das graced the programme as Guests. The Speakers discussed about growth and present scenario of Odia Journalism and its contribution to the society. “Odia journalism played an important role in pre-independence and post independence period. Though technological journalism in Odisha is at par with any other language journalism in India, there is a need for improvement in content,” said Dr. Chatterjee.  August 04 is important for Odia journalism as on this date in 1866 the foundation of Odia journalism was laid with publication of the first issue of ‘The Utkal Dipika’.

    Every year, this August 04 will be celebrated as Odia Journalism Day by Indian Institute of Mass Communication Alumni Association, Odisha Chapter. “Next year we will organize a campaign to popularize the day among media fraternity as well as people of Odisha,” informed office bearers of the of the Association. More than 50 members of the Association were present during the occasion.

  • MoM: Andhra Pradesh Chapter Meeting | 14 July, 2013

    Dear IIMCians,

    Fourth meeting of IIMCAA, AP Chapter was held on 14th July, 2013 at HUDA Park, Vanasthalipuram, Hyderabad. It was attended by President Byomakesh Biswal, General Secretary Rajesh Parida, Niharkant Panda, Shantiswarup Samantaray, Treasurer Abinash Mohapatra, Executive member Jayanta Sahu and Organisation Secretary Rakesh Mohanty.

    1) The meeting reviewed the membership drive of the chapter and decided to speed up the drive.
    2) Since one of the executive member of the chapter, Vinit Koneru moved to another state recently, the meeting has nominated Niharkanta Panda (TV Capsule course-2003) Mobile Number: 09440563185, Email: nihar.pnd@gmail.com as the new executive member in his place.

    7) In order to broaden the activities of the alumni, the meet has decided to create course modules on different aspects of journalism and share it with aspiring journalists studying in different institutes in the state. 
    8) The meet also considered a proposal to form a cricket team and participate in matches with other media organizations.
