The IIMC Alumni Association (IIMCAA) is pleased to announce that the entries for the 9th IIMCAA Awards are now OPEN FOR SUBMISSION. It is open for all working professionals including non-IIMCians.
Our commitment to recognize the outstanding achievements in various fields of mass communication and fostering connections among them remains steadfast. Hosting another round of these prestigious awards marks a significant milestone, and we are elated to have reached the IIMCAA Awards 2025.
The IIMCAA Awards 2025 will honour the best professional works done by an applicant/ applicants from January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024. Out of the 12 categories, 9 offer a cash prize along with a trophy and certificate, while the remaining 3 offer a trophy and certificate.
The shortlisting of entries and selection of winners will be conducted by an esteemed panel of jury members. The winners will be announced on 23 February at Connections Meet in Delhi. IIMCAA will contact the winners and share the invite to attend the award ceremony.
IMPORTANT CHANGES WITH RESPECT TO IIMCAA AWARDS 2024
– An applicant is required to submit THREE (3) News/Shows/Campaigns done in 2024 now, instead of ONE (1)
– An applicant is required to submit essay in video format now, instead of written essay to justify his/her/their claim for the award

The Central Committee met on 1st, 8th and 15h December at IIMC HQ, New Delhi. IIMCAA President Ms Simrat Gulati presided over these meetings that were attended by Former Presidents Mr Prasad Sanyal, Mr. Kalyan Ranjan, Executive President Ms. Gayatri Srivastava, IIMCAA Care Fund Chairman Mr Nitin Pradhan, Vice Presidents Mr Prabal Bhardwaj, Ms Puja Mishra, General Secretary Ms Deeksha Saksena, Treasurer Mr Animesh Biswas, Secretaries Ms Sneha Bhattacharjee, Mr Shankar Pandit, Maharashtra’s GS Mr Krishna Phophle, CC Member Mr Ritesh Verma, Ms Vani Shukla, Former GS Mr Harshendra Verdhan, Lifetime Member Mr. Rajesh Parida and several other alumni.
Minutes of the Meeting
1. Connections 2025– CC has decided to reunite IIMCAA Awards with IIMCAA Connections in 2025. It has been decided that the inaugural meet in Delhi will be an invite only event while contributions by attending alumni will be made mandatory for all chapter meets. Further details on Connections & Awards will be issued separately.
2. Resignation of a Member– The CC reviewed the resignation of a member and it was decided that no further action is needed on it.

Dear IIMCians,
The Gujarat chapter members met on 27th October 2024 (Sunday) in Ahmedabad. This was the first get together after the annual meet that was held on 7th April. The members bonded over the delicious breakfast and shared some light moments. It was nice to see some of the members with their family. Besides fun and banter, some important points and ideas were discussed. And the following was decided:
1. The next get together of the Gujarat chapter is fixed for 15th December 2024. The tentative location is Polo Forest.
2. Request all the members to block this date in your calendar. The members present on 27th October are already in. Request all the remaining members to please note. Also, the idea is to have family join in this get together.The details will be shared soon.
3. Continuing with the Gujarat Run (initiated by Mr. Arvind and Ms. Rashmi), it was decided that the second Gujarat run will take place on 31st December 2024 and 1st January 2025. This Run may be undertaken from any location and hence the members may join from their respective base location. Details will follow soon.
4. It has been proposed and decided that the Gujarat chapter will send a request to our alma mater. The proposal is that IIMC should allow & open admission directly to second year of 2 years Masters for all the alumni of IIMC. The idea is this will help all the alumni interested to study and complete Masters in Mass Media. As of now, the alumni have to go to different Universities like Guru Jambheshwar University, Kurukshetra University.
5. Since this is our alma mater, the opportunity should be given to alumni to complete their Masters from our respected alma mater. This idea was proposed by Mr. Ujjaval Pratap and was strongly supported by all the members present.
6. We will work on the draft proposal for this and send it to the central Committee soon.
