Dear IIMCians,
IIMC Alumni Association [IIMCAA] is now in its 7th year of the IIMCAA Awards. Our endeavour to recognise the excellent work of our alumni in different fields of mass communication and remain connected with each other continues. Hosting another round of the awards gives us a sense of achievement that our endeavours are bearing fruit and we are elated to have reached IIMCAA Awards 2023.
We are announcing entries open for IIMCAA Awards 2023 in 9 competitive categories out of 15 categories of IIMCAA Awards 2023.
We have added one more award – Journalist of the Year starting 2023. This is a competitive category award open to all journalists, whether alumni of IIMC or not. This award carries a prize money of Rs 150,000 INR inclusive of taxes.
So, whereas earlier our awards were for the IIMC alumni only but now we have one award open for one and all of the journalist profession.
IIMCAA Awards will felicitate the best professional work done by the alumni and others, during 1 January, 2022 to 31 December, 2022. It carries a cash prize along with a trophy and a certificate.
There is a prize of 150,000 INR inclusive of taxes for the Journalist of the Year, 100,000 INR inclusive of taxes for Agriculture Reporter of the Year and 50,000 INR inclusive of taxes for each of the other competitive categories.
The selection will be done by a jury which will meet in January, 2023 and select the winners. The awards will be announced and given on 26th February, 2023 at the Annual Alumni Meet- Connections 2023.

General Criteria and Rules of IIMCAA Awards 2023
1. Applicants must be a PG Diploma holder of the IIMC except for category number 7 of the awards- Journalist of the year. Check Separate Notification for Journalist of the Year Award here
2. Applicants are not required to be a member of IIMC Alumni Association to apply for the awards.
3. Applicants can send only one outstanding work/designated series/campaign done during 1 January,
2022 to 31 December, 2022 as an entry.
4. Entries to be sent at awards@iimcaa.in with category name in subject line.
5. Applicants must attach a brief essay, maximum in 200 words, about the work justifying the entry for the awards.
6. Entries acceptable only in PDF, JPEG, URL or PPT format. The size of the attachments must be less than 5 MB.
7. An applicant can apply for only one category in a particular year.
8. Recommendation letter from the Head of the organisation or Reporting Manager is required for all such entries which don’t carry by-line/ credit to the applicant. By-line/credited entries do not require any such recommendation.
9. Entries need to be accompanied by a recommendation letter from the Editor/ Competent Authority if applied for the award categories – Producer of the Year, PR Person of the Year and Ad Person of the Year.
10. Two references of classmates/ batch mates at IIMC have to be provided by the IIMC alumni applicant with their name, department, batch, campus, email id and mobile number.
11. Work in all Indian languages will be considered without favour or prejudice but the applicant should provide a suitable translation in English or Hindi to enable the judging process.
12. IIMCAA Central Committee members do not qualify for any awards.
13. Publishing categories cover the text works published in newspapers, magazines and news portals.
14. Broadcasting categories cover the audio/ video works done for TV, Radio and other digital platforms.
15. If an alumnus of agency side and another of client side send the same campaign, the entry received first will qualify and will be considered.
16. Name of the organisation of winners, designation or freelance status will be recognized in certificates and trophies of IIMCAA Awards 2023.
17. Deadline to submit the entries for IIMCAA Awards 2023 is 10 January 2023.
18. If the jury doesn’t find any suitable entry in any of the categories then the award for that category may be dropped for this year.
19. The decision of the jury will be final and can’t be contested in any court.
20. Applicants have to submit a typed or handwritten undertaking duly signed by applicant, text is given below:-

I declare that there is no legal notice or legal proceedings pending or settled with regard to the entry submitted. If at any time it is found that I have withheld any information regarding the entry and its disclosures then the entry could be disqualified or the award withdrawn at the discretion of the jury and IIMCAA.
I authorise IIMCAA to use my name, photograph, organisation name and entry for promoting the IIMCAA Awards in all communication mediums. I will accept the final results of IIMCAA Awards 2023.

21. Any rule/ criteria can be altered by the IIMC Alumni Association, at any stage, if necessary in the larger interest of the awards.

1) Lifetime Achievement Award– Recognising and felicitating an alumni who has made an enormous contribution to the field of mass communication.
2) Alumni of the Year – Recognising and felicitating an alumni for his achievements and contributions in making the brand IIMC stronger in any sector.
3) Public Service – Recognising and felicitating an alumni associated with projects in the areas of social work, public welfare and development.
4) Connecting Chapter of the Year – Recognising and felicitating a chapter of IIMC Alumni Association that has made the maximum effort to connect the alumni in the year 2023.
5) Connecting Group of the Year – Recognising and felicitating a group of alumni which has kept the alumni spirit alive and has remained connected with each other.
6) Connecting Alumni of the Year – Recognising and felicitating an alumni who did the most to keep the alumni connected in individual capacity.
7) Journalist of the Year – Excellent Journalistic work in any form of publishing, broadcast or digital in English, Hindi or any Indian language.
8) Agriculture Reporter of the Year– Excellent Journalistic work in any form of publishing, broadcast or digital in English, Hindi or any Indian language covering issues related to agriculture.
9) Reporter of the Year [ Publishing] – Excellent Journalistic text work in any form of publishing (Print & Digital) in English and Hindi.
10) Reporter of the Year [Broadcast] – Excellent Journalistic audio, video work in any form of broadcast like TV, Radio and Digital in English and Hindi.
11) Indian Language Reporter of the Year (Publishing)– Excellent Journalistic text work in any form of publishing (Print & Digital) in any Indian language excluding English and Hindi.
12) Indian Language Reporter of the Year (Broadcasting)– Excellent Journalistic audio, video work in any form of broadcast like TV, Radio and Digital in any Indian language excluding English and Hindi.
13) Producer of the Year [Broadcast] – Excellent journalistic audio, video production work in any form of broadcasting in any language prevalent in India.
14) PR Person of the Year – Excellent work in the field of PR, Image building, Advocacy and related areas showing competency and achievement in the field.
