    Greetings from Media Studies Group


    We, at Media Studies Group, publish two journals on media, journalism and communication. Along with the journals we also publish books related to communication, journalism and media including other reference material on the subject.

    We wish to make available all the above mentioned material in e-format so that anybody can access it on a click.

  • West Bengal: Braj is President, Shatabdi Gen. Sec.

    Dear IIMCians,

     

    The inception meeting of West Bengal Chapter of IIMC Alumni Association took place in Kolkata on February 24. Total 4 Alumni participated in the chapter formation process and elected office bearers of the chapter.
     
    It was decided that chapter team will be expanded after arrival of new alumni. Office bearers will prepare a list of alumni working or living in West Bengal and invite them in future alumni meetings/ activities.

     

    Office Bearers are as follows:-

    President- Braj Kishore, EJ, 1995-96, Delhi

    General Secretary- Shatabdi Chakraborty, EJ, 2010-11, Delhi

    Treasurer- Piyali Chatterjee, RTV, 2011-12, Delhi

  • PUNE: Alumni Get Together on March 2nd

    Dear IIMCians,

     

    We have decided to have our 2nd Alumni meeting cum Get Together on March 2nd, 2013, Saturday, at Chaitanyas, FC Road, (opposite to FC College first gate) over dinner. We can all meet up around 7:30PM. The dinner expenses will be shared all together.

     

    We would specially request our CWC Mr. Rajensh Ranjan and Mrs. Sangeeta Kumari to join us, as we would like to felicitate them.

     

    The agenda of the meeting will be primarily to start the membership drive, find out ways to make it more easier and quicker for all alumni, residing in Pune.

     

    I would also request you to come along with your spouses or partners to attend the meet, so that the big IIMC family can work together for progress.

     

    Let's get together to make the meet a success.

  • Minutes: TN Chapter 2nd Meeting of Feb 23

    Dear IIMCians,

     

    The Tamil Nadu Chapter of IIMCAA met today at President, Amar Nath's residence. The meeting was attended by Sneha Bhattacharjee and Hussain Kodinhi.

     

    Minutes of Meeting

     

    – Membership: Amar Nath, Sneha & Hussain have registered themselves under yearly membership presently. More participation is expected from the other members in the chapter once they receive the membership forms.

    – Next meeting: The members have decided to meet quarterly as per everyone's availability.

    – Bank Account: The members have decided to open a bank account to safeguard the money collected from the members as the membership fee. However, this is subject to all the rules and regulations as per the banking guidelines.

    – Other issues discussed: Family picnic, alumni get-together, coordinating more participation in the coming meetings.

  • Maharashtra Chapter: Minutes of the 3rd meeting, Feb 9

    Dear IIMCians,

     
    IIMCAA, Maharashtra met at Golden Chariot, Hotel Radhakrishna, Opp. Shoppers Stop, S.V. Road, Andheri (W), Mumbai over dinner at 6.30 PM on Saturday, February 9, 2013.
     
    The following agenda was discussed:
     
    1. We decided to visit to IIMC Amravati in the month of March.
    2. Discussed membership drive in Maharashtra in accordance with the national committee suggestions.
    3. Chapter decided to organise annual party of the alumni residing in Maharashtra.
    4. Chapter decided to invite office bearers of Pune sub chapter for the next meeting.

  • Minutes: UP Chapter Meeting, February 12

    Dear IIMCians,

     

    Uttar Pradesh Chapter of IIMC Alumni Association met at Dept of Journalism, Lucknow University on February 12. The meeting was chaired by Chapter President Mr. Santosh Valmeeki & attended by Organisation Secretary Marinder Mishra Mashaal, Treasurer Laxmi Shankar Mishra, Executive Members David and Aniruddha Dhar. Rupesh Pathak & Ramendra Singh also participated in the meeting. Mr. Mukul Srivastav, Assistant Professor of Lucknow University was special invitee to the meeting to discuss the upcoming Seminar.

     

    Decisions are as follows:-

    1. UP Chapter will organise a seminar on “Media & Politics: Issues & Challenges” with in association with Dept of Journalism, Lucknow University in April, 2013.

    2. A member will share his/ her professional experience with others in future meetings.

    3. It was decided to get letter pad published.

    4. Next meeting will take place on 1st Sunday of March.

    5. Membership campaign to be intensified. Marinder Mishra Mashaal, Laxmi Shankar Mishra, David and Samarth will co-ordinate with each other for successful completion of membership drive in the state.

  • AP Chapter Starts Membership Drive, Next Meet on March 3

    The meeting for membership drive of Andhra Pradesh Chapter of IIMC Alumni Association took place at HUDA Park, Vanasthalipuram, Hyderabad on 10th February 2013.

     
    Those who attended the meeting are Byomakesh Biswal, Rajesh Parida, Indu Kumari Jha, Chetan Mallik, Subhamoy Das, Akarshan Kumar Giri, Rudra Narayan Das, Suchismita Maharana, Manoj Das, Rabinarayan Samal, Bharat Bahadur, Shantiswarup Samantaray, Niharkanta Panda, Abinash Mohapatra & Rakesh Kumar Mohanty.
     
    For the first time, as per the decision of IIMCAA, the chapter had included the IIMCians who have done the short term certificate courses from Dhenkanal. After the discussion on membership drive, some of the IIMCians contributed their membership fee to the association. The meeting decided to make an online database for the association and two IIMCians Subhamoy Das and Chetan Mallik from Deloitte Software Company voluntarily took the responsibility.
     
    Besides, the meeting also discussed on the delegations from the chapter to the Alumni Meet of association in Delhi. IIMCian Chetan Mallik and Shantiswarup Samantaray voluntarily expressed their willingness to attend the meeting there.
     
    As the chapter was assigned, the Genaral Secretary Rajesh Parida coordinated to contribute the articles to the souvenir of IIMCAA.
     
    Each and every IIMCian who attended the meeting told for a couple of minutes on his/her ''Safar So far'' taking from IIMC days to today.
     
    It has been tentatively decided that the next meeting of AP Chapter will be held on 3rd March 2013 (Sunday) at 10 AM in HUDA Park, Vanasthalipuram, Hyderabad which will be followed by a lunch to be prepared by the IIMCians only.
