  • MoM- Beijing | China – Hong Kong & Macau SAR Chapter Meeting | 6 July, 2019

    Dear IIMCians,

    IIMC Alumni Association China – Hong Kong & Macau SAR Chapter organized its first meeting on July 6, 2019 in Beijing. It identified IIMC Alumni in region known to members in attendance.

    Alumni in Beijing: Khushboo Razdan, Gaurav Sharma, Suvam Pal, Shipra Kundra, Alok Gupta and Manisha Jooty

    Alumni in Hong Kong
    : Anisha Bhaduri, Supriya Batra, Mansi Walia, Bhavna Satyanarayan and Tathagata Ray Chowdhury

    Alumni in Shanghai: Amrita Dhar and Amit Deshmukh

    Members felt there might be more alumni working in the region and make efforts towards connecting them to the group. It was unanimously decided to look for more networking opportunities and connect with various IIMCAA Chapters in SE Asia.
     
    It was decided that Alok Gupta will continue to work as coordinator of the chapter.

    We are looking for people with one or two years of experience or fresh pass-outs from reputed mass communications institute with a drive to make a positive change in the society. The Social Business Communications Associates are expected to help boost online donations to grass-root level Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) by creating innovative content and using Social Media and Digital Marketing tools effectively.

    Responsibilities:

    • Work with different grass-root level CSOs in Tier II & Tier III cities for time-bound online fundraising campaigns.
    • Gather potential crowdfunding campaign ideas from the CSO leadership.
    • Create Donor database of the organization & build a system for its continuous update.
    • Generate high-quality picture and video contents doing field trips. Edit, publish and share high-quality content (original text, images, videos etc.)
    • Handle Social Media platforms of the CSO. Build and execute social media strategy through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification.
    • Engage with local & celebrity influencers, Media and other important stakeholders for promotion of the fundraising campaigns.
    • Integrate all channels of marketing (social media, SEO, content marketing, email, print and digital marketing) for fundraising purposes.

    Eligibility:

    • People with 1-2 years of experience or fresh pass-outs from a mass communications institute are eligible to apply.
    • Excellent knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram, Google+ and other social media best practices
    • Excellent writing and communication skills
    • Experience of graphic designing & video editing softwares is a must.
    • Maintains a working knowledge of principles of SEO including keyword research and Google Analytics.
    • Possesses functional knowledge with WordPress CMS.
    • Makes evident good technical understanding and can pick up new tools quickly.

  • IIMCAA Ghana Chapter Meeting in Accra on 3 August, 2019

  • IIMCAA Medical Assistance Fund Supports Mr. Jeevan Deep Vishwakarma

    Dear IIMCians,

    IIMCAA Medical Assistance Fund Committee has unanimously decided to extend the financial assistance of 20,000 INR to Mr. Jeevan Deep Vishwakarma of HJ, 2016-17 Batch who had sought help from IIMCAA Medical Assistance Fund. The Committee had a virtual meeting today to discuss the issue and approved the maximum amount of assistance one alumni can get under the scheme.

    Mr. Jeevan, recovering after surgery, is struggling to settle his hospital bills while his IIMC friends are trying to ease his monetary stress by raising funds via social media. 

    Mr. Jeevan becomes first beneficiary of IIMCAA Medical Assistance Fund which was launched in May, 2019 with 10% of total sponsorship of Connections 2019.

  • Kochi- Kerala Chapter Meeting & IIMCAA Scholarships | 13 July, 2019

    Dear IIMCians,

    IIMC Alumni Association's Kerala chapter will host a small get together to award the IIMCAA Scholarships 2019 at Lotus Club, Presidents Room, Kochi on 13 July at 5.00 PM.

    Malayalam Journalism students of IIMC South India Campus, Kottayam would be handed over the cheque of scholarships of 25000 INR each. Those who will receive 1st IIMCAA Scholarships 2019 are, Ms Teenu Thomas, Ms Noora T and Mr. Anand TA.
