  • 2 More decisions: IIMCAA Office Bearers Meeting on 11th November

    Dear IIMCians,

     

    In continuation with the earlier mail dated November 12, 2012 under subject line “Minutes of the office bearers meeting on 11th November“, I would like to add two more decisions which were taken in that meeting but were missed in the mail.

     

    They were as follows:

     

    1. Lifetime Membership: In addition to annual membership fee of 500/- INR there will be a provision of lifetime membership and a member need to pay 10,000/- INR for such membership.

    1. Logo of IIMCAA: The Association will invite IIMCians to design a logo to be adopted as the Official LOGO of the IIMC Alumni Association. A competition will be held to select such a LOGO. The designer of the selected logo would have to surrender the logo copyright to IIMCAA. Winner will be awarded with a lifetime membership and a gift at an official function of the IIMCAA.

  • Delhi IIMC Students Celebrated Diwali with Slum Kids

    The current batch of IIMC, New Delhi celebrated Diwali in a heartening way this year. The students of this batch distributed new warm clothes among 50 underprivileged children living in the areas adjacent to the Campus on November 11, 2012.

    The proposal was first moved by Hindi Journalism Class Representative Adarsh Shukla, who shared his wonderful idea of distributing sweets & candles in Vasant Vihar slum areas with his classmates.
    HJ students later on discussed the beautiful idea with other Departments, Faculty members and Staff of the Institute. Everybody agreed on the same and small contributions were made by HJ, EJ, RTV, AD-PR, Faculty members and Staff. They all raised Rs 5,000/- in just two days.
    On November 11, IIMCians assembled again and decided to distribute warm cloths instead of sweets & candles by Rs. 5,000/-. Students bought 50 new warm clothes and distributed among children living on footpaths of Munrika, Ber Sarai and Vasant Kunj areas.
    Adarsh Shukla, Anand Dutta, Tarun, Kamini Patil, Aarti, Sumit Bandhu, Asha Kuntiya, Bhaskar, Aditya Kumar, Abhishek Sonkar (all from HJ), Vishwajeet Mukherjee, Aditya Kumar, Abhishek Sonkar (all from EJ), Ankit Roy, Bhavna Chauhan, Mohit Virmani, Nitin Gulati (all from RTV), Indrani, Nitesh, Nandita and Pushpanjali (all from Ad-PR) actively participated in this effort.
    IIMC Alumni Association congratulates the students of 2012-13 batch of IIMC, New Delhi for such kind initiative and hope they will continue their generous work in future as well.

  • West UP Sub-Chapter Proposal to host Silver Jubilee Meet of 1st Batch of HJ

    Dear IIMCians,

     
    Western Uttar Pradesh Sub-Chapter of IIMC Alumni Association has decided to host the Silver Jubilee Meet of 1st Batch of Hindi Journalism. As we know, Hindi Journalism Department is celebrating Silver Jubilee this year which was established in 1987.
     
    Sub-chapter has proposed to host the Silver Jubilee Meet of 1st batch of Hindi Journalism in Meerut. A decision of this effect was taken in the inception meeting of the Sub-chapter on 11th November in Meerut.
     
    Uttar Pradesh Chapter is pleased to forward the proposal to National Chapter. State unit requests National unit to decide soon over Silver Jubilee Meet of 1st batch of HJ.

  • West U.P. Sub-Chapter: Pradeep is President, Arvind is Gen. Sec.

    Dear IIMCians,

     
    Western Uttar Pradesh Sub-Chapter of IIMC Alumni Association has been constituted in a meeting held at CCU University Guest House, Meerut on 11th November, 2012.
     
    Meeting of IIMCians elected Pradeep Mishra as President, Shambhu Bhadra as Vice-President, Arvind Shukla as General Secretary, Rakesh Pandey as Treasurer, Samarth Saraswat as Organisation Secretary of Sub-chapter.
     
    Meeting also approved the name of Subhash Chand and Brahamanand Mishra as member of executive. Sub-chapter decided to regularly meet on first Sunday of each month.
     
    Ex-officio positions in State Chapter
     
    President & General Secretary of Western Uttar Pradesh Sub-Chapter will be ex-officio Vice-President & Secretary respectively of Uttar Pradesh State Chapter of IIMCAA.
    In simple words, Pradeep Mishra is Vice-President and Arvind Shukla is Secretary of State Chapter for current term of the Uttar Pradesh Chapter.

  • IMP: Punjab/ Himachal/ Haryana chapter meeting now on 17th November

    Dear IIMCians,

     
    The inception meeting of the Punjab/ Himachal Pradesh/ Haryana chapter of IIMC Alumni Association will now take place at Chandigarh Press Club on 17th November at 2.00 PM for the convenienece of the IIMCians due to festival holidays.
     
    IIMCians living/ working in Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Haryana (excluding NCR ie Faridabad and Gurgaon) are requested to attend the first meeting of the chapter which will elect/ select the office bearers of this chapter.

  • Minutes of the office bearers meeting on 11th November

    Dear IIMCians,

    Office Bearers meeting of the Association at UNI campus on 11th November was presided by President Mukesh Kaushik and was attended by Vice Presidents Aakash Kumar, Shubhashish Mallick, Organisation Secretaries Harshendra Verdhan, Ritesh Verma, Secretaries Anand Saurabh, Kunwar Abhishek Bhagat, Treasurer Gaurav Dikshit, Executive Members Prabhat Pandey, Amit Kanaujia, Soumya Jha, Ranveer Singh, Neha Keshri, Varun Shailesh, Vartika Tomer & Keshav Kumar. Organisation Secretary Ritesh Verma presented a status report on progresses made so far in the formation of chapters across the country and outside.

     

    Several issues were discussed in the meeting and decisions are as follows:-

     

    1. Sad demise of Manoj Kumar Kandher, English Journalism, 2004-05, IIMC, Dhenkanal: Association will write a letter to the Chief Minister of Orissa demanding suitable compensation to the dependents of the family and a job for the wife of Late Kandher. Association will seek a meeting with Chief Minister of Orissa to press for the demands. Meeting authorized President Mukesh Kaushik and Vice President Aakash Kumar to talk to the parliamentary leaders of ruling Biju Janta Dal in Delhi in this regards.

     

    1. Membership fee: Meeting decided that there will be an annual fee of 500/- INR for the membership of the association. Membership tenure would be January to December every year.

     

    1. Approval of Membership form: Meeting approved the format of membership form. Coordination Committee will act as the office of the membership drive.

     

    1. Registration Process: Meeting authorized General Secretary Animesh Biswas to get the Association registered under the societies registration act. Consultant will be hired for this purpose and budget for this purpose will be provided by the Treasurer Gaurav Dikshit after approval of the finance committee.

     

    1. Issues to be discussed with DG, IIMC:  A 5-Member delegation will meet Director General of IIMC Sunit Tandon who is also Patron of the Association. Meeting listed the issues to be discussed with DG. We will seek assistance of the institute for the activities of the Alumni Association. We will make the outcome of the meeting public once we meet him.

     

    1. Website work: Website works will be taken up after we complete the membership drive.

     

    1. Let’s Talk: Meeting decided that Association will organize a talk in the 2nd half of last Friday of every alternate month. We will invite a prominent personality for discussion on issues related with communication field. Talk will be conducted by two moderators. First Let’s Talk may be organized on 28th December, 2012 or 25th January, 2013. A final decision on this issue will be taken after delegation of the Association meets DG, IIMC. Coordination committee will look after this activity in consultation with office bearers. Logistics Committee will provide logistical support to Coordination Committee while Treasurer will look after the budgetary side of the event in close coordination with Finance Committee.

     

    1. Newsletter: Association will publish a bi-monthly newsletter to be circulated among members of the association. It shall be published after Let’s Talk. Mode of delivery of the newsletter will be online/ printed or both depending on the resources. Communication Committee will oversee the content/ publication/ delivery of the newsletter to members while Treasurer will provide budgetary support for this activity in close coordination with Finance Committee.
