Dear IIMCians,

Jharkhand Chapter of IIMC Alumni Association met in Ranchi on January 12, 2020. Chapter President Mr. Manoj Kumar presided over the meeting.

Minutes of the meeting:-

1. New member Mr. Vineet was welcomed by the Chapter.

2. A decision on the annual membership contribution was taken in the meeting. Most of the members expressed the view that since the mode of spending was not clear there were questions in the minds of people about the funds. It was decided that the annual contribution would be used in holding chapter meetings and any other gatherings mutually agreed upon by the members. For any kind of social activities a separate fund can be generated as and when needed.

Also, the treasurer would send a detailed account statement in the group of the contributions as well as expenses incurred till date.

3. The chapter decided to hold its annual picnic at McCluskieganj, a small hilly town about 64 km northwest of Ranchi on February 09, 2020. Since many of the members haven’t visited the place it should be interesting. However, members may advise other places as well, keeping in mind that women, children and old people also take part in the picnic.

4. The chapter also discussed on raising sponsorship for the Annual IIMCAA meet in Ranchi and Delhi.

5. It was decided that Chapter president Mr. Manoj Kumar will participate in the Cross Chapter meeting.

6. Sri Manoj Kumar, Sri Dev Vrat Singh, Sri Amit Gupta, Sri Kumar Rajesh, Sri Anupam Rana, Sri Vineet Kumar were present in the meeting.

The Central Committee has decided to host Connections 2020 Meet in Delhi on February 9, Sunday.

Delhi Elections voting date on February 8, Saturday has caused the rescheduling of inaugural meet of Annual Alumni Meet- Connections 2020.

Connections 2020 Delhi will start at 3 PM at IIMC HQ, New Delhi.

Dear IIMCinas,

IIMC Alumni Association's Germany – Europe chapter inception meeting took place on January 4, 2020 at Seminarraum, Haus der Geschichte, Bonn in Germany. It elected chapter officials and discussed various issues with respect to chapter activities.

Goals For year 2020
1. Preparing a Database of Alumni residing in Europe.
2. To ensure maximum possible participation in IIMCAA Awards 2021 from the Germany – Europe chapter.
3. (A) To organize IIMCAA Connections in year 2020.
OR
(B) To organize another Chapter Meeting in 2020, if Connections can’t be organized. Tentative dates for meeting are- 22nd or 29th August 2020, 5th or 12th September 2020.

IIMCAA Gujarat Chapter met over breakfast-cum-lunch on December 15, 2019 (Sunday) at CEPT Ahmedabad amid the presence of President Dr. Pradeep Mallik (PDPU), senior alumni Prashant Kumar Sahoo (The Times of India), Susim Mohanty (CEPT), Pranjal Protim Boruah (Ahmedabad Mirror), Ashok Kumar (ABP Asmita) and Arvind Kumar (KU). Many a things were brought on the discussion table.

Minutes of the meeting:

1. Discussed about looking for sponsorship for our Annual Connections meet.
2. Discussed about a few possible venues for the upcoming annual meet- Connections 2020.
3. Apprised members about Annual Membership due and also discussed about Lifetime Membership.
4. Status update on membership dues pending for the last two years for a couple of members
5. Mr. Susim Mohanty shall represent Gujarat chapter in ‘Connections 2020’ and his two options for venues in that order are: Dhenkanal and Delhi.
6. The chapter also discussed on how to take the IIMCAA Gujarat chapter forward.

IIMCAA President Mr. Prasad Sanyal called on Mr. KS Dhatwalia, DG- IIMC & Patron- IIMCAA on 19th December, 2019 at PDG- PIB Office in New Delhi. He requested DG IIMC to consider the demands of students over fee hike empathetically when the executive council meets next month.

He requested DG to convey the sentiment of alumni to the EC that fee for PG Diploma Courses should be fixed in a manner that students who secure admission in IIMC are not left out because they can't afford it.

Mr. Sanyal assured Mr. Dhatwalia that IIMCAA will continue to support students, and at least 15 IIMCAA Scholarships of 25000 INR each have been arranged for the current batch. He appealed alumni to come forward and adopt one or two scholarships to help more students in need.

IIMCAA Patron and IIMCAA President held fruitful discussion on a wide range of issues covering study to placements, and agreed to cooperate mutually for the benefit of the students and the institute.

The IIMC Alumni Association is abiding by its Constitution. According to our constitution’s directive principles, we cannot interfere in the internal matters of the IIMC.

 

IIMCAA is a platform for networking amongst IIMC alumni. It is not student union. Hence, we refrain from commenting on issues involving students.

 

As a responsible Alumni Association, we have Scholarships to students and awards for alumni. Last year we disbursed a total of ₹2.75 lakh as scholarships to students. This year we have already committed to disbursing ₹3.75 lakh as scholarships.

 

We appeal individual alumni to come forward and add to scholarship corpus to help students in need.

 

The Central Committee has authorised President Mr. Prasad Sanyal to take up fee hike issue with DG, IIMC cum Patron, IIMCAA in a manner that doesn't violate the constitution.
