  • German Development Media Awards

    I'm writing to you because I'd like to draw your attention to the German Development Media Awards. These new Awards recognize excellence in human rights and development journalism and are an initiative by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and Deutsche Welle. 

    The German Development Media Awards are open to journalists from Asia, Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, Eastern Europe and Germany. While we have received quite a few submissions from journalists in Asia, only a small selection are displaying high-quality journalism. I would therefore be grateful if you could pass on this information to your professional network, as we would greatly like to receive more journalistically sound submissions.

    Entries can include stories in all journalistic formats in print, radio, TV and online. The stories should focus clearly on human rights and development. The entries must have been published or broadcast between January 1, 2012 and May 31, 2013. The competition languages are English, Chinese, French, Arabic, German, Russian or Spanish. Six prizes worth 2,000 Euros each will be presented as part of the awards. We are also accepting nominations for these Awards; so if you know a journalist who you think particularly deserves this Award, please get in touch with my colleague Barbara Gruber (germanmediaawards@dw.de).

         II.   Excellent verbal and written communication skill in English and Malayalam

    Experience   :  Minimum 15 years of post qualification experience in the field of public relations/  media relations/journalism.

    Age               : Shall not exceed 40 years as on 15th May 2013.

    Selected candidate will be appointed on probation, in the scale of pay Rs. 29100-3%-54500, and the remuneration package will include Basic Pay, Industrial DA, HRA, Allowances, Provident Fund, Gratuity, Medical reimbursement etc., as per company rules. CTC as per present pay package would be approximately Rs.90,000/- per month.  Probation will be normally for one year, on successful completion of which confirmation in the regular service of the Company will be considered.  Probation period is liable to be extended at the discretion of the management.

    The OneWorld – POSHAN Media Fellowship on Maternal and Child Undernutrition in India – 2013

    Call for applications. Last Date April 25.

    Applications are invited from journalists for The OneWorld– POSHAN Media Fellowship on Maternal and Child Undernutrition – 2013. The fellowship is open to full-time and freelance journalists from the mainstream media, including print, electronic, radio, online, and news agencies/wires.

    The fellowship is for six months, beginning May 15, 2013 and applications are invited in two languages – English and Hindi.

    The fellowship provides a stipend of Rs 1,00,000 (Rs one lakh only) and additional reimbursement for travel and books of upto Rs 60,000 (Rs sixty thousand only).
