    MoM – IIMCAA Jharkhand Chapter Meeting | 12 October 2025

    A meeting of IIMCAA Jharkhand Chapter was held on 12 October 2025 at Ispat Club Mecon, Ranchi. Chapter President Mr. Kishor Kaushal presided over the meeting that was attended by former President Mr. Manoj Kumar, General Secretary Mr. Rajesh Kumar, Organisation Secretary Mr. Anand Dutta and other officials and members of the chapter.

    The following resolutions were adopted after the discussion of various agendas.

    Agenda 1: To arrange a visit and distribute daily essentials to an old age home or orphanage before Diwali.

    Resolution: Discussed and Approved. Mr. Manoj Kumar, Mr. Amit Gupta, Mr. Anand Dutta and Mr. Ranjeet Kumar will coordinate the visit on 18 or 19 October 2025.

    Agenda 2: To organise a media workshop or seminar.

    Resolution: Dr. Rajesh Kumar is the coordinator for the purpose.

    Agenda 3: To organise IIMCAA Jharkhand Chapter Family Tour.

    Resolution: Discussed and Approved. Mr. Pranav Pratyush Das and Mr. Manish Gupta will coordinate the family tour to the Patratu Valley.

    Agenda 4: To prepare a brief profile of alumni of IIMC Jharkhand Chapter through Google Form before Diwali.

    Resolution: Discussed and Approved. Mr. Kishor Kaushal, Dr. Rajesh Kumar and Mr. Anand Dutta will coordinate for the purpose.

    Agenda 5: To felicitate alumni for their contribution in their respective profession.

    Resolution: Discussed and Approved.

    – Mr. Vishal Jain, Mr. Anand Dutta and Ms. Varsha Rani Tirkey will plan and coordinate felicitation under the supervision of Mr. Kishor Kaushal.

    – Ms. Manisha Minz will prepare posters and messages for the special occasion of an alumni such as birthday, marriage or any other celebration in coordination with Mr. Anand Dutta.

    Agenda 6: To finalise T-shirt or Hoodie Sweat Shirt for the Alumni of IIMCAA Jharkhand Chapter.

    Resolution: Discussed and Approved. Mr. Kishor Kaushal, Dr. Rajesh Kumar and Mr. Manoj Kumar will finalize the item.

    Agenda 7: To plan modalities of financial management for conducting meetings and events of IIMCAA Jharkhand Chapter

    Resolution: The agenda item was deferred for the next meeting.

    Further, it was unanimously agreed that the participation of alumni is essential for conducting various activities/ events for the welfare of society and for making IIMCAA Jharkhand Chapter more vibrant.

    CC MoM – Connections 2026 on 28th February, Saturday | IIMCAA Award Entry Opens in November

    Dear IIMCians,

    The Central Committee meeting took place at IIMC HQ, New Delhi on 5th October. IIMCAA Executive President Mr. Prabhash Jha presided over the meeting that was attended by former Presidents Ms. Simrat Gulati, Mr. Kalyan Ranjan, Mr. Prasad Sanyal, Vice Presidents Mr. Amimesh Biswas & Ms. Sneha Bhattacharjee, General Secretary Mr. Atul Gupta, Treasurer Ms. Deeksha Saksena, Secretary Ms. Khushi Sharma, Executive Members Mr. Prabhat Pandey, Mr. Kaushal Vishwakarma and Mr. Shankar Pandit.

    IIMCAA Care Fund chairman Mr. Nitin Pradhan, IIMCAA Bangladesh General Secretary Ms. Angur Nahar Monty, Lifetime Members Ms. Rashi Bisaria and Mr. Ritesh Verma also joined the CC meeting. It discussed the agenda listed for the meeting and following decisions were taken.

    1. Connections 2026 

    – Global Meet of Connections 2026 will be hosted in New Delhi on 28th February 2026, Saturday. Venue and timing will be communicated in coming days.

    – It will be an invite only event in Delhi like 2025. Event fees for members/ non-members will be communicated in the coming days.

    – Event fee to attend chapter meets for members/ non-members will be communicated in coming days.

    2. IIMCAA Awards 2026 

    – IIMCAA Awards 2026 will be organised. Entries shall open in November giving at least one month time to applicants.

    – Separate communications will be issued for IIMCAA Awards 2026.

    3. Connections & Awards Officials

    – The meeting discussed and approved a list of alumni and industry veterans to approach for various posts with respect to Connections & Awards. Such announcements will be made separately after getting consents. 

    4. Budget for Connections & Awards

    – The CC has approved a tentative budget of 1.20 Crore rupees to organise all meets and Awards, considering last year cancellations of chapter meets due to shortage of funds.

    – Organising all or a few chapter meets depends on meeting the budget target. Chapters contributing in sponsorship campaigns will be prioritised in case of shortage of funds.

    AGM 2025 MoM | IIMCAA Adopts Constitutional Amendments and Welcomes New Leadership

    Dear IIMCians,

    The Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication Alumni Association (IIMCAA) was held on 21st September 2025 at the IIMC Headquarters, New Delhi.

    The meeting was chaired by IIMCAA President Ms. Simrat Gulati and was attended by Executive President Ms. Gayatri Srivastava, Vice President Ms. Puja Mishra, General Secretary Ms. Deeksha Saksena, Secretary Ms. Sneha Bhattacharjee, Treasurer Mr. Animesh Biswas, along with other members of the Central Committee (CC) and General Body (GB). 

    The President Elect Mr. Sushil Singh with his elected panel joined the meeting and took charge of the association formally. Former IIMCAA Presidents Mr. Kalyan Ranjan and Mr. Prasad Sanyal and Former General Secretary Mr. Mihir Ranjan were also present in the meeting.

    Minutes of the Meeting

    1. Constitutional Amendments – The AGM reviewed various amendments (deletions, insertions, and modifications) proposed by the Central Committee and approved by the General Council. The resolution to adopt these amendments was passed unanimously.

    One amendment was proposed by Mr. Prasad Sanyal, at the AGM, to add the option of virtual meetings for the General Body like CC and GC; and that was passed unanimously.

    The approved amendments to the constitution, as resolved in the AGM, shall be incorporated, and an updated copy of the constitution shall be submitted to the Registrar of the Society, South East District, New Delhi. It will be uploaded on the website of IIMCAA and circulated among members as well.

    2. Co-opting IIMCAA Care Fund Trust – The AGM resolved to formally co-opt the IIMCAA Care Fund Trust into the association’s framework.

    3. Activities Report – The General Secretary Ms. Deeksha Saksena presented the report of activities that includes organising first Global Connections Meet outside campus, reuniting Connections and IIMCAA Awards, Launching first annual off-site meet in Goa among others. AGM lauded the outgoing team for its effort to expand the horizon of activities.

    4. Financial Report – The Treasurer Mr. Animesh Biswas presented the audited report of accounts for the FY 2024-25. AGM passed the financial statements unanimously.

    5. Other Agenda – Mr. Rupesh Kumar proposed to resume the students’ centric initiatives that have been discontinued. AGM discussed and resolved unanimously to continue with alumni centric activities.No other issues were raised hence AGM concluded the discussions with resolutions mentioned above.

    6. Handover of Charge – At the AGM, the outgoing Central Committee formally handed over charge to the newly elected team. Outgoing President Ms. Simrat Gulati and President Elect Mr. Sushil Singh signed the documents to this effect.

    7. Vote of Thanks – The Executive President Ms. Gayatri Srivastava thanked all participants at the AGM.

    MoM | CC Meeting – Constitutional Amendments Passed for Review by the Governing Council

    Dear IIMCians,

    The Central Committee met on 31st August at IIMC HQ, New Delhi. IIMCAA President Ms. Simrat Gulati presided over the meeting that was attended by Karnataka Chapter President Mr. Rajender Kataria, IIMCAA Executive President Ms. Gayatri Srivastava, General Secretary Ms. Deeksha Saksena, Secretaries Ms. Sneha Bhattacharjee & Mr. Shankar Pandit, Communication Head Ms. Kanishka Tiwari, Executive Members Mr. Ritesh Verma & Ms. Vani Shukla. Office bearers of the CC Elect Mr. Prabhat Pandey, Ms. Vrinda Mathur, Mr. Kaushal Vishwakarma, Mr. Prabhat Upadhyay, Mr. Shreesh Chandra Singh, Ms. Tanima Ray, Ms. Suparna Shree and Ms. Khushi Sharma were also present at the meeting. Following decisions have been taken at the CC Meeting

    1. Review of the Constitution– The Central Committee discussed various amendments, deletions and insertions to the constitution. It aims to update the constitution to take into account new courses at IIMC and absence of clarity on a few issues. A resolution has been passed unanimously to put forward these changes before the Governing Council for an appropriate decision. Major changes that will reflect in the updated constitution, if passed by the General Body at the AGM on 21st September 2025, are as follows;

    A. Deletion of Advisory Board Membership
    B. Addition of Masters and Mandatory Government Training courses in the ambit of membership
    C. Addition of restrictions on activities similar to a student or trade union for the Association.
    D. Addition of clauses to bring clarity over bodies entrusted with policy making and executions
    E. Addition of powers to the Governing Council including role to decide issues that are not defined in the constitution
    F. Addition of virtual or in-person mode of the meeting for the Governing Council
    G. Deletion of meeting venue as Delhi for the Governing Council
    H. Extensions of tenure for the Central Committee in exceptional circumstances such as pandemic etc. when conducting elections would not be feasible
    I. Deletion of Organisation Secretary as a signatory for financial matters
    J. Addition of provision to appoint additional signatories, if required, by the Central Committee
    K. Amendments to bring clarity on who will preside over the meetings in absence of the president
    L. Addition of provisions to find a replacement for an office bearer of the Central Committee, in case of resignation/ unforeseen situations, from among CC members
    M. Replacing the word Properties with Assets wherever applicable

    2. ⁠AGM 2025– The CC will host the Annual General Body meeting at IIMC HQ, New Delhi on 21st September 2025, Sunday at 05.00 PM. The CC elect will take over after the AGM the same day. Appropriate arrangements to be made for the AGM.

    3. Connections 2.0 Goa 2025– The CC expressed satisfaction on the preparations for the first off-site in Goa that is being organised on pay and join basis. It passed a resolution to take care of other expenses that are required to conduct the event.

    4. Any issue raised by members present in the meeting– Nil

    Ms. Rayana Pandey | Master of Ceremony | Connections 2.0 Goa 2025

    Ms. Rayana Pandey, 2006-07 Batch Alumna (EJ, Delhi), will be the Master of Ceremony for the Inaugural edition of Annual Off-Site Meet- Connections 2.0 Goa 2025. The meet is being held from 5th September to 7th September in Goa.

    Former Editor of Marketing magazine Singapore and Southeast Asia, Rayana is a corporate trainer, professional emcee and a trained actor. She is founder and director of Mobius Strip Productions Pvt Ltd- a theatre-based training company based out of Mumbai. Ms. Pandey is an Executive Member of Maharashtra Chapter Committee of IIMCAA.

    Dear All, 


    I have received only one nomination for the IIMCAA Elections 2025 from Mr. Sushil Singh. Mr. Sushil Singh submitted nomination papers along with letters of support of a total 325 members as a proposer of the panel. His panel includes a total 35 members as nominees to the central committee including himself. The list of panel members and proposers are given below.


    After duly scrutinising the nomination forms and letters of support, the panel of Mr. Sushil Singh is being declared elected uncontested. The new team shall assume the charge at the Annual General Meeting of the IIMCAA, on 21st September 2025.

    IIMCAA Care Fund Trust | Minutes of the Meeting | 10th August 2025 | IIC, New Delhi

    The meeting of the IIMCAA Care Fund Trustees was held on August 10, 2025, at the India International Centre, Delhi. It was presided over by Mr. Nitin Pradhan, Chairman, IIMCAA Care Fund, and attended by Ms. Jaishri Jethwaney, Ms. Simrat Gulati, Ms. Gayatri Rath, Mr. Prasad Sanyal, Mr. Animesh Biswas, and Mr. Ritesh Kumar Verma.

    Key Decisions Taken:

    Medical Assistance: The Trust reviewed its past initiatives and the current requests received from alumni. It was resolved that the IIMCAA Care Fund will continue to provide financial assistance of INR 20,000 to alumni for emergency medical needs, on a case‑by‑case basis, subject to verification of the requisite documents.

    In addition, the Trust will extend support by facilitating crowdfunding campaigns to help alumni meet their required medical expenses.

    AI Upskilling Initiative: Considering the ongoing technological transformation in the mass communication sector, particularly the growing role of Artificial Intelligence, the Trust will introduce AI Training Classes for alumni.

    * The programme will follow a co-pay model: a portion of the fee will be borne by the alumnus, while the remaining amount will be covered by the Trust.
    * Seats will be limited, with priority given to IIMCAA members.
    * Further details, including schedules and enrollment procedures, will be announced shortly.

    Renaming of Fund on IIMCAA Website: On the IIMCAA website, the ‘IIMCAA Medical Assistance Fund’ will henceforth be referred to as the ‘IIMCAA Care Fund’.

    IIMCAA Care Fund Letterhead: The Trust approved the official design of the IIMCAA Care Fund letterhead for use in all formal communications.

    Appointment of Secretary: The Trust appointed Mr. Animesh Biswas as Secretary & Coordinator to oversee and manage the day‑to‑day administrative affairs of the IIMCAA Care Fund.

    Frequency of Meetings: The Trust will meet virtually every month and hold an in-person meeting each quarter to review activities and progress.

    Dear IIMCians,

    Nominations for the Biennial Election for the Central Committee of IIMC Alumni Association will be accepted from 4th August to 10th August, 2025.

    Any panel willing to contest IIMCAA Elections shall submit nomination papers duly signed by the President candidate and separate letters of proposers backing them.

    A group of registered voters, who have paid or renewed their annual membership in the last one year or have enrolled as a lifetime member, may contest IIMCAA Elections 2025 with a panel of members ranging from 11 to 55 backed by other 10 members as proposers.

    The Membership List (General Body) of IIMC Alumni Association has been updated including all alumni who have enrolled as a member of the IIMCAA up to 31st July 2025 with respect to IIMCAA Elections 2025.
