  • CC Response to Issues raised by Mr. Abhishek Ranjan Singh, HJ, 2007-08 Batch

    Dear IIMCians,
    The Central Committee of IIMC Alumni Association deliberated on the issues raised by Mr. Abhishek Ranjan Singh, HJ, 2007-08 Batch in the last meeting on May 4, 2014 at IIMC HQ, New Delhi. 
    CC officials had requested him to attend the meeting to discuss the issues but he chose not to attend. Hence all the issues raised by him were discussed in his absence. 
    Responses to Mr. Singh's questions are being provided in Hindi as the issues were raised originally in Hindi. 
    Alumni with similar questions/ allegations/ queries may consider these responses as an official statement. Responses are open to criticism but not for further conversation.

    सवाल 1- ईमका सोसायटी रजिस्ट्रेशन एक्ट के तहत क्यों रजिस्टर्ड हुआ ?
    जवाब- 2004 में ईमका के गठन और बाद में 2012 के पुनर्गठन के दौरान यह तय हुआ था कि इसे एक रजिस्टर्ड संगठन बनाया जाएगा. रजिस्ट्रेशन के लिए ट्रस्ट और सोसायटी में एक विकल्प को चुनना था. ट्रस्ट एलुम्नाई एसोसिएशन के लिए अलोकतांत्रिक विकल्प था इसलिए सोसायटी के तौर पर इसे रजिस्टर्ड कराया गया है
    सवाल 2- ईमका का दफ्तर डीफेंस कॉलोनी में क्यों ?
    जवाब– आईआईएमसी प्रबंधन ने ईमका को संस्थान में दफ्तर के लिए जगह नहीं दी. सोसायटी के तौर पर रजिस्टर कराने के लिए एक दफ्तर अनिवार्य है. इसलिए डीफेंस कॉलोनी में एक किराए की जगह ली गई है जिस पते से ईमका औपचारिक रूप से काम करता है.
    सवाल 3- ईमका संविधान सार्वजनिक क्यों नहीं करता ?
    जवाब– ईमका का रजिस्ट्रेशन 2004 में बनाए गए संविधान के आधार पर कराया गया है क्योंकि रजिस्ट्रेशन के लिए एक संविधान की जरूरत थी. केंद्रीय समिति ने मई, 2013 की बैठक में तय किया था कि संगठन को स्वरूप लेने में समय लगेगा और उस स्वरूप के हिसाब से संविधान बनाने में थोड़ा समय लगेगा इसलिए पुराने संविधान के आधार पर ही रजिस्ट्रेशन कराया जाए और बाद में जब संविधान बन जाए तो नए संविधान को रजिस्ट्रार के पास अधिसूचित कर दिया जाए. 
    पुराने संविधान में चैप्टरों की भूमिका नगण्य थी. उसमें ये नहीं था कि कोई एलुम्नाई लगातार दूसरी बार अध्यक्ष नहीं बनेगा. उसमें ये भी नहीं था कि कोई एलुम्नाई केंद्रीय समिति में पद अदल-बदल कर भी लगातार तीसरा टर्म नहीं रह सकेगा. केंद्रीय समिति संगठन को खड़ा करने और चलाने के दौरान लगातार कई फैसले ले रही है और वो सब संविधान का हिस्सा है. अक्टूबर, 2014 से पहले मौजूदा टीम नया संविधान पेश करके जाएगी. 
    केंद्रीय समिति ने तय किया है कि चैप्टर और केंद्रीय समिति के प्रतिनिधियों को मिलाकर नेशनल काउंसिल बनाया जाए जो साल में एक बार मिले. नेशनल काउंसिल पर अब तक पर्याप्त चैप्टरों से मंजूरी नहीं मिली है इसलिए गठन नहीं हो सका है. नेशनल काउंसिल के अस्तित्व में आने के बाद केंद्रीय समिति नीतियों का पालन करने और कराने वाली बॉडी रहेगी. नीतिगत फैसले काउंसिल में होंगे. जब तक काउंसिल नहीं है तब तक केंद्रीय समिति सर्वोच्च है.
    सवाल 4- आईआईएमसी के संसाधन का दुरुपयोग करता है ईमका ?
    जवाब– आईआईएमसी के एलुम्नाई का संगठन होने के नाते आईआईएमसी प्रशासन की तरफ से संगठन को कुछ सहूलियत मिलती हैं. जैसे सभागार के लिए किराया नहीं लिया जाता है. इसके अलावा आईआईएमसी प्रशासन की तरफ से संगठन को न तो कोई सुविधा दी गई है और न संगठन ने कोई और सुविधा अब तक ली है.
    सवाल 5- ईमका छात्रावास की मांग क्यों नहीं करता ?
    जवाब– ईमका मौजूदा छात्रों का संगठन नहीं है बल्कि यह पूर्व छात्रों का फोरम है. दूसरी बात कि ईमका न तो कोई छात्र संघ है और न ही कोई मजदूर संघ. ईमका आईआईएमसी के मामलों न रुचि रखता है और न दखल देता है. इसलिए छात्रावास समेत आईआईएमसी से जुड़े सारे मसले ईमका के एजेंडे से बाहर हैं.
    सवाल 6- ईमका की बैठक गूंज के दफ्तर में क्यों हुई ?
    जवाब– गूंज आईआईएमसी के एलुम्नाई श्री अंशु गुप्ता के द्वारा स्थापित प्रतिष्ठित एनजीओ है. 23 फरवरी को उनका सालाना कार्यक्रम था और उन्होंने एलुम्नाई एसोसिएशन के सारे पदाधिकारियों को वहां आमंत्रित कर रखा था. टीम के कई लोग वहां जाने वाले थे और ईमका की अपनी मीटिंग भी होनी थी. इसलिए ईमका की बैठक को उस तारीख व उस जगह पर रख लिया गया जहां गूंज के कार्यक्रम के लिए केंद्रीय समिति के सदस्य जाने वाले थे.

  • IMP | Rules & Schedules for IIMCAA Elections 2014

    Dear IIMCians,
    IIMC Alumni Association will conduct its elections on October 5, 2014.
    Rules:-
    1. An alumni enrolled as Member of the IIMCAA may vote/ contest in IIMCAA Elections 2014.
    2. Electronic/ online voting methods would be adopted for the elections.
    3. A panel of minimum 11 members may contest the elections for the next term, 2014-15. 
    4. Any panel willing to contest must be proposed by 10 members other than panel. 
    5. Members comprising the panel/ panels are eligible to vote.
    6. All the proposers of panel/ panels are eligible to vote.
    7. A Panel will be named after its proposed President's name. 
    8. Voters list excluding personal details like email id and mobile number will be made public on IIMCAA social forums.
    9. All panels will get a copy of detailed voters list (Name, Mail id, Mobile Number, Location) by elections officials post filing of nomination.
    10. Panels contesting elections are eligible to use all social forums of IIMCAA (Google Group, FB Profile Account of IIMCAA DDAAKJ, FB Page, & Twitter) to campaign. 
    11. Moderator of the IIMCAA Online activities will publish all the campaign related material supplied by panel/ panels. 
    12. Moderator will have no right to revise/ block any campaign material supplied by panel/ panels but materials must not be derogatory and should not violate law of the land.
    13. Panel/ Panels may file complains about each other to election officials only. Decision of the elections officials will be final and binding for all.
    14. Counting of votes would take place in presence of representatives of panel/ panels.
    15. Results declared by election officials will be final. Any objection will be heard & decided by elections officials. Decision of elections officials will be binding for all.

  • MoM | CC Meeting | 4 May, 2014

    Dear IIMCians,
    The Central Committee of IIMC Alumni Association met on May 4 at IIMC HQ, New Delhi. Vice President Mr. Apurva Chamaria presided over the meeting while Organisation Secretaries Mr. Harshendra Verdhan, Mr. Ritesh Verma, Executive Member Mr. Amit Kanaujia, Mr. Rahul Sharma & Mr. Harendra Yadav attended the same. In addition to CC Members, alumni Ms. Chetna Bhatia, Mr. Abhishek Anand, Ms. Kamini Patil, Mr. Pratham Dwivedi, Ms. Richa Banka, Ms. Bhagyashree Sagar & Ms. Garima Singh also participated in the meeting.
    Minutes of the meeting:-
    1. Organisation Secretary Mr. Ritesh Verma briefed the meeting over Maharashtra Chapter Meeting of last month and recent resignation of Organisation Secretary Mr. Saurabh Dwivedi.
    2. Website work is not progressing as desired. Vice President Mr. Chamaria has taken charge to oversee website work himself now. Financial commitments will be shared once designer is final.
    3. Membership has been negligible so far this year. Only 7 alumni got themselves enrolled as member during alumni meet this year. CC hopes the drive speed up once we are through with website.
    4. As advised by auditor, all future payments to vendors/ firms has to be made post deduction of applicable TDS which we have missed so far.
    5. The term of CC has been revised as One Year. The current team had set two years term for itself at AGM, 2012 to revive the association. Major part of the revival process is done so there is no need to have a two year long term. IIMCAA will conduct CC election annually henceforth.
    6. A three member election office will be formed to conduct free & fair elections. Officers will be announced post acceptance by nominees.
    7. CC will undertake the issue to propose a panel for 2014-15 in the next meeting.
    8. Rules & regulations, schedules etc for IIMCAA Elections 2014 will be communicated in a separate mail.
    9. CC deliberated issues raised by alumnni Mr. Abhishek Ranjan Singh and Mr. Abhishek Parashar. Response of CC to those issues to be communicated in a separate mail soon.

    Job Opportunity:
    Humara Bachpan campaign requires communication officers who will be dealing with Media nationally in major cities and more focused with Delhi Media.
    Location: Delhi/ Mumbai/ Bhubaneswar (The person will have to frequent travel no matter wherever he/she is based)
    Job description:
    • Establish close rapport with journalists both in English and vernacular in print and electronic media
    • Create media materials and a portfolio of articles related to HBC’s work and objectives. 
    • Support the team to organize Press briefings and Press Conferences periodically
    • Write and disseminate regular press releases, support press briefings, and editorials for distribution to the media
    • Develop and oversee production of print materials for press kits, media trainings, and interactions with the media
    • Collate and create content for internal newsletters and ensure all publications are published as per the deadline
    • Engage with the media periodically and take them on “tours” to fields for exposure visit.
    • Coordinate with the casework teams to document news/stories from the field (for print and video)
    Teamwork
    Maintain open lines of communication with HBC team members and partners across the country. Create content & storytelling pieces in coordination with all Casework and Advocacy departments in order to facilitate professional, timely communications of HBC work and the issue of children growing up in urban poverty to the media and public audiences.
    Travel Requirements
    • Travel for documentation, collecting case stories, meetings and conferences and managing media in different Indian cities
    Required Skills and Experience
    • Master or Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or Communications.
    • 3-4 years of relevant work experience.
    • Ability to identify “news” and peg stories to suit the audience. Need to be able to write compelling stories, articles and press releases quickly and independently.
    • Expertise in using Microsoft Suite Software and server-client networks.
    • Experience in using Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Pagemaker or/and InDesign)
    • Strong editorial eye and proofing skills. Ability to convey message and image through written, visual and oral communication.
    • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English, Hindi and one more Indian Language. Knowledge of Multiple other languages are preferred
    • Organized, meticulous attention to detail.
    • Experience with branding and use of social media is essential.

    ABOUT HBC
    “Humara Bachpan” is a national campaign on living conditions for young children in urban poverty. The campaign calls for inclusion of child friendly components in the urban renewable policies such as Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) and Rajiv Awash Yojana (RAY).
    – Facilitate children forums, network with organisations working with children to advocate for a safe physical environment for children.
    – Understand how young children understand and use their physical environment.
    – Create opportunities for children and teenagers’ participation and leadership through an empowering process.
    – Respect young children’s creative thinking and capacities to advocate for change.
    – Educate policy makers, practitioners and the civil society about research outcomes and processes onimportance of safe and healthy physical space in the development of young children.

    मित्रों
    लंबे समय से सक्रिय निष्क्रिय रूप से मैं और मेरा नाम अलुमिनाई संगठन से जुड़ा है. कुछ साथियों से वैचारिक मतभेद हैं कुछ मुद्दों पर. मगर मैंने संगठन की गरिमा को ध्यान में रख उन पर सार्वजनिक चर्चा नहीं की. मंच पर अपने तईं बात रखी. असहमति का साहस भी रखा और क्षमता भर सहमति का विवेक भी दिखाया.

    संगठन में नाम के लिए बना रहूं और कोई काम न करूं, ये ठीक नहीं. मेरे लिए भी और संगठन के लिए भी. मौजूदा परिस्थितियों में मेरे लिए काम कर पाना मुमकिन नहीं. इसीलिए पिछली कई बैठकों में भी नहीं आ पाया. नाम भर की उपस्थिति का कोई मतलब नहीं.

    इसलिए मैं संगठन में मुझे दिए गए पद से इस मेल के जरिए इस्तीफा देता हूं.संगठन के जरिए कई लोगों का प्यार और मान मिला. उन सभी का बहुत बहुत आभार

    Alumni known to Sagar shared all the information they had over possible circumstances which led him to take the extreme step. 
    It was decided that CC Member Mr. Keshav Kumar would meet family members of Sagar next week to communicate our deepest condolence. 
    He shall try to understand the issues family is facing and role of the association in solving those issues. Association shall discuss it once Mr. Keshav returns back.
