  • MoM | Maharashtra Chapter Meeting | 19 April, 2014

    Dear IIMCians,
    IIMCAA, Maharashtra Chapter held its ninth meeting on Saturday at the sprawling park complex bordering Mithi river and overlooking the hottest financial streets of the Bandra-Kurla complex. 
    These days Bandra-Kurla complex has acquired more political colour than business, thanks to the RamLeela Maidan sized MMRDA ground hosting rallies organised by different political parties. 
    Saturday, when we were about to hold our meeting, hundreds of Mumbai Policemen were running security check for the upcoming rallies by Rahul Gandhi and Narendra Modi. The chapter President Suryakant Mishra and I reached early. After little wait we started digging into delicious Maharashtrian food, when other Mumbai based IIMCians started coming in. Over cups of hot tea we started our meeting. The highlight of the meeting was the enthusiasm and insight from two alumnus- Deepak Sharma (2006, Delhi) and Kamini Patil (2013, Delhi).
    Deepak has made us proud by working as a writer for major Bollywood movies . He left his lucrative career in television to become a full time writer for movies and has achieved significant success despite initial struggle. Deepak is currently a Asia Society Fellow and is exploring different hues of India through his meaningful writing.
    The other alumnus Kamini is one of the most energetic alumni members. The young lady came to journalism after being brand manager at Goodearth and Fab India. A budding lawyer and astute marketer, Kamini is currently teaching at IIMC Delhi.
    Our meeting was very informative and helped us in deciding new plans to strengthen the association in Maharashtra. The chapter decided on internship and job opportunities for financial journalism aspirants in Mumbai. Chapter's Mumbai members are constantly in touch with publishers for any suitable opportunities.
    We also noted the name of IIMCians living in Mumbai but have not been able to connect with the association and will approach them. An off site has been planned for member details of which will be decided and communicated to members in due course.

  • IMP | Maharashtra Chapter Meeting | 19 April | BKC @ 4 PM

    Dear IIMCians,
    IIMCAA, Maharashtra Chapter will meet at 4:00 PM on April 19/ Saturday.
    Venue:  Food Court and Park near Family Court/RBI in Bandra-Kurla Complex.
    We propose to conduct the following business during the meeting:
    1. Organising an Annual Mumbai Alumni Meet of all the alumni staying in Mumbai.
    2. Distribute T Shirts and Kurtis to alumni who had ordered and registered. 
    3. Discuss and accelerate membership drive. Each participating member will suggest at least another IIMCIan  living in Mumbai for membership drive.
    4. To conduct open house for innovation in the field of communication and progress of our association.

    IIMCAA Biennial Election will be held on Saturday, 5th October, 2014. 

    The result will be declared within a week and new team will take charge at Annual General Meeting on 19th October, 2014.

    Members of the association are eligible to contest & vote. 

    The current team will propose a 21 member panel for next tenure. President and General Secretary, to be proposed by the current team, shall belong to the department of RTV and Ad-PR in next panel. Current President & General Secretary belong to HJ and EJ.

    Any number of panel comprising members of the association may contest election against the panel proposed by current team.

    Detailed procedure of biennial election will be decided in the next CC meeting.

  • MoM | CC Meeting | 6 April, 2014

    Dear IIMCians,

     

    The Central Committee meeting held at IIMC HQ on Sunday, 6th April, presided by Treasurer Gaurav Dikshit. General Secretary Animesh Biswas, Organization Secretary Ritesh Verma, Communication Secretary Deepti Gahrotra, Digital Head Srishti Dugar, Nitin Sreedhar, Debalina Dey, Ipshita Panda, Mohit Virmani, Kamini Patil, Aakash Priyan, Deeksha Saxsena & Richa Banka were present at the meeting.

     

    Minutes of the Meeting are as follows:-

     

    1. Declaration of Income-Expense of Alumni Meet 2014

    For the 'Connections 2014', the IIMC Alumni Association raised Rs. 8,17,000/- through Sponsorship, Advertising and Registration for the event. Out of which, Rs. 6,87,000/- spent on the annual alumni meet. A total of Rs. 1,30,000/- is left in the IIMCAA account.


    2. Review of Website work

    Mr. Mohit Agarwal, Finance Secretary & Creative Head of IIMCAA, has informed that the website work is in process and by this month, all its elements will be functional.


    3. Membership

    The Committee has decided to enroll maximum alumni as members.


    4. Next AGM and Election of Next Team
